About Us
Wild Onion Press publishes books featuring children with various physical differences. Our philosophy is that a physical difference is not a disability; it is merely an outstanding characteristic. In our current biracial, multicultural society, the voices of the physically different are now especially the ones to be folded into the mainstream of American culture, as well as into the global community.
Through school and recreational reading, readers will come to know that Wild Onion Presss characters are so similar to themselves that differences do not matter, if, indeed, they dont disappear altogether. Fiction, nonfiction and biographies are Wild Onions specialties suitable for all young readers as well as for adults.
All books donate a portion of the proceeds to a service or nonprofit organization that is a good fit for a particular storys theme. See our list of nonprofit recipients on the Friends Page.
